At WebDataDynamics, our primary goal is to provide professional web site products and services for small businesses.  Since everyone else says basically the same thing, what makes us different?  To understand the difference, you simply need to understand the difference between static and dynamic data.

Static Data Websites
Many small businesses have traditional web sites that contain information about their business, such as office hours, products and services provided and contact information. This information is usually embedded in web pages that were created by authoring tools used by the web site builder.  The data is “static” since it resides inside multiple pages on the web site.  For example, your business phone number may appear on five different pages across your web site.  If you needed to have your phone number updated, it would need to be manually changed in the five pages that it appears.

Typically, when a business wants to update their information, they contact the company or person who created their web site to make the necessary changes to the web page files.  This is usually an additional cost which is commonly provided through monthly web site maintenance contracts.   Since these updates need to be scheduled by the company that created the web site, the changes can sometimes take several days to implement.

The bottom line is that a majority of current generation web sites are static information about the small business, the information is not easy to update, there are usually monthly or annual maintenance costs and the web site does not usually actually improve the operation of the small business.

Dynamic Data Websites
Many small businesses today are enhancing their existing web sites with dynamic data that improves their operations.  Dynamic data is typically information entered through secured forms, stored in relational databases and dynamically displayed on their web site.  This capability is often referred to as a “Content Management System”.  In the phone number example above, the number would be entered into a form and then stored in a database.  Making a change to the phone number on the form automatically updates every place where the phone number appears across the site.

In addition to dynamic data, small businesses are enhancing their existing web sites with dynamic functionality.  Dynamic functionality is not about flash animation, it is not about multi-media presentations and it is not about menu navigators that float around the screen.  Dynamic functionality is about a small business owner having direct control over the information that is presented on their web site; it is about utilizing software and database technologies to help solve business problems and it is all about helping a small business grow their business by harnessing the power of the Internet.

The bottom line is that next generation web sites are not just an advertising billboard; they become an integral part of the small businesses operation.  Dynamic capabilities of a web site are a business investment designed to generate a “return on investment”.

Best of Both Worlds
The best overall design of a web site is one that incorporates both static and dynamic data.  If you currently have a web site, dynamic functionality may be added.  If you do not have an existing web site, the design, graphics packaging and navigation of the web site can be provided by traditional web site builders while we provide the dynamic functionality.

Since 2001, WebDataDynamics has delivered several dynamic solutions in partnership with web design companies.  Dynamic applications include Content Management Systems, Online Scheduling Systems, Ecommerce Systems, Online Blogs, Email Newsletter Systems, etc....
